Dikki Du (Troy Carrier) is a native of Church Point, Louisiana. Born into one of the great musical Louisiana families, The CARRIERS, Troy is the brother of Chubby Carrier and son of Roy Carrier. Dikki Du's recent "Make it Funky" shows the tremendous range of this band. Hisability to take songs from classic zydeco and turn them inside out with fresh and funky sounds, and his renditions of "Iko-Iko" and Stevie Wonder's "Higher Ground" insure a great groove. The popular LETS ZYDECO shows are set up for listening or dancing. A complimentary dance workshop in the basic zydeco styles is provided prior to the music, to help newcomers learn the basic zydeco dance steps.
For this special event, members of the band will be teaching the dance lesson.

The 2009 Danceathon is on at a great new location in Clark NJ. The Deutscher Club has an outdoor pavilion with: weather safe roll down sides, a wood dance floor, stage, covered picnic tables, along with real bathrooms and an outdoor picnic grove.
The party is now one day long and we continue with the great all day pot luck meal, along with burgers and hot dogs from the grill, water and soft drinks all included with your admission. Wine and beer are available for purchase at a nominal price.
The host hotel is the Crowne Plaza, 36 Valley Rd, Clark, NJ. Discounted rates of $79 for 1 King bed, $89 for 2 standard beds are available by calling (732) 574-0100 by June 30, 2009 and requesting the Danceathon room rate. The hotel is about 5 minute drive from the event.

Leroy Thomas, "The Jewel Of The Bayou," was born in Lake Charles, LA into a very musical family. His famous father, Leo, is one of the most famous zydeco drummers. Leroy picked up the drums at age 8, and soon progressed to the accordion, and he has barely stopped since. Leroy is a real showman, and puts on a high level show. Zydeco's infectious accordion and rubboard driven-party-all-night sound that was born in the bayou and dance halls of SW Louiaiana can now be heard throughout the world.

Formed in 1995 when accordionist/singer Chris Stafford was 8 and fiddler Chris Segura was 11, Feufollet quickly became known as one of the most exciting Cajun bands in Acadiana, not because of their youth but because of their obvious musical ability and the vivacity with which they approached the traditional music of the area.
