At Arnb.Org, we recognize that privacy of your personal information is important. This document describes what types of personal information we receive and collect when you visit Arnb.Org, and how we safeguard this information.

  • Cookies — We use cookies to store information on your system such as:

    • Your personal preferences. This information is sent to our server so we may customize your schedule with information including: your distance to an event, show or hide festivals, weather for your home location, select events for your custom schedule, and select events for your custom upcoming RSS feed.
    • Date of last visit. There may a cookie for each of our editions and partner schedules visited by a system. This information is used to set the new and updated icons shown on the schedules.
    • Session cookie. Our server sets a cookie when you sign in and during various other processes. This cookie is deleted at the end of a session or when your browser is closed.
  • Third Party Cookies and Web Beacons &mdash We use third-party advertising companies to serve ads on our web site. These third-party advertising companies employ cookies and 1x1 pixel gifs or web beacons to measure and improve the effectiveness of ads for their clients. To do so, these companies may use anonymous information about your visits to our web site and other web sites. This information can include: date/time of banner ad shown, the banner ad that was shown, their cookie, the IP address. This information can also be used for online preference marketing purposes.

    Arnb.Org has no access or control over the cookies used by our third-party advertisers which include Google Adsense and LinkShare. You should consult the respective privacy policies of these third-party ad servers for more detailed information on their practices as well as for instructions about how to opt-out of certain practices. Arnb.Org’s privacy policy does not apply to, nor do we control the activities of our advertisers.

    If you want to prevent a third-party advertiser from collecting data, you may visit each ad network's web site individually and opt out. You may also disable or selectively turn off our cookies or third-party cookies with your browser settings, or by managing preferences in programs such as Norton Internet Security. However, this can affect how you are able to interact with our site as well as other web sites. This could include the inability to login or post events, and reduced functionality.

  • Email and Email Addresses — We are committed to keeping your e-mail address confidential on our web site. We do this by encrypting your email address on our schedules, providing a method of encrypting email addresses keyed into event comment fields, and by using an online email contact form that does not disclose the receiver’s email address to the sender. The sender's address is disclosed to the receiver. The receiver of an email from our contact system will disclose their email address when choosing to reply to the sender.

    We do not monitor or log email generated by our contact system.

  • Event Reporter’s Name — On Arnb.Org’s editions, the name of the person who entered an event is displayed when the cursor is placed over the "contact" email icon icon. The icon is securely linked to our email system allowing our web site readers to contact the event reporter.
  • Log Files — Like many other web sites, Arnb.Org’s host server makes use of log files. The information stored on the log files may include: your Internet protocol (IP) address; type of browser; Internet Service Provider (ISP); date/time stamp; referring/exit pages; and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement around the site, and gather demographic information. No information is available or logged that is personally identifiable.
